"It's not a balancing act" - Female WWE Champion opens up about her on-screen character

WWE Superstars often maintain a delicate balance between their real-life and on-screen personas. While they may adopt exaggerated characters for their in-ring performances, many wrestlers strive to maintain a more grounded identity outside the ring.

Recently, reigning WWE Women's Champion Nia Jax discussed whether there was a difference between her real-life personality and the on-screen persona. Over the past 10 years, The Irresistible Force has solidified her villainous character and established herself as one of the company's top heels.

In an interview with Screen Rant Plus, Queen Nia opened up about her on-screen persona, stating that it was simply an amplified version of her real-life personality. The Irresistible Force said that fans have connected with her authenticity, and they enjoy seeing her personality on display.

Nia Jax emphasized that she didn't attempt to balance her character with a different persona, as she wanted the WWE Universe to ''relate to'' who she truly was.

"It's not a balancing act. It's who Nia Jax is. It's a little turned-up version of who I really am. I feel the audience can relate to somebody that they feel comfortable with. So I just try to be myself, turned up, and apparently it's been working. They seem to like it, but I don't try to balance anything because I don't feel as though I want to be anything somebody can't relate to," she said. (From 04:52 to 05:23)

Nia Jax reveals winning a major WWE tournament was more difficult than securing the Women's Championship

This year has been an eventful one for The Irresistible Force. At the King and Queen of the Ring PLE in May 2024, the Australian won the Queen of the Ring tournament. Subsequently, at SummerSlam, Nia Jax overcame Bayley to become the WWE Women's Champion.

During the same Screen Rant Plus interview, the SmackDown Superstar revealed that becoming the Queen of the Ring was a harder accomplishment as compared to capturing the WWE Women's Title. Notably, Jax had to get past Naomi, Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, and Lyra Valkyria to earn the crown.

"The Queen of the Ring was [harder] to me because it was a tournament and it was; there's so many brackets. I had to face so many different competitors, like incredible. I got Naomi, Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, and Lyra Valkyria. I mean, these are just like, these are top-tier women in the division. So that was definitely a difficult phase to go through," she said.

Meanwhile, Bayley will face Naomi in a singles match on the upcoming edition of Friday Night SmackDown. The winner will lock horns with Nia Jax for the WWE Women's Championship at Bad Blood.
