"It's so over [broken heart]" - WWE fans react to photo of Johnny Gargano and The Motor City Machine Guns
WWE continues to tease the split of DIY. Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano have held their own as a top SmackDown duo in recent months, with one 28-day reign as WWE Tag Team Champions. Now that The Motor City Machine Guns are in DIY's mix for the first time, various scenarios are on the table for the blue brand storylines, and fans have been reacting.
Johnny Wrestling is on good terms with Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley. Friday's SmackDown saw Gargano press The Next and The Future for another DIY title shot. Later on, Montez Ford shockingly defeated The Blackheart of WWE, but Ciampa pulled a post-match attack until Angelo Dawkins arrived. Gargano rushed in to pull his partner off Dawkins. As The Guns came to help Gargano, Ciampa stormed off and yelled about which team Gargano was on as he stood with The Guns.
Gargano took to Instagram after SmackDown to post a photo that shows him standing next to Sabin and Shelley in the middle of the ring while Ciampa was making his exit. The Cleveland native did not caption the post, but the WWE Universe saw the message and took to the comments section to speculate.
Most fans seemingly want to see Gargano and Ciampa get back on the same page for a DIY heel turn against The Motor City Machine Guns. The turn would potentially lead to DIY's second reign with the WWE Tag Team Championship. Some fans were glad to see Gargano get booked in the storylines on TV.

The narrative appears to be split between fans who want the DIY heel turn and those who want to see Gargano link up with Sabin and Shelley. There were some pitches for new versions of The Way and MCMG and pitches for officials to introduce the new World Trios Championship.
A few of these reactions can be seen below:
DIY defeated Pretty Deadly in tag team action two weeks ago on SmackDown. This was a rematch from early August, which was also won by Gargano and Ciampa. DIY also has eight wins over Elton Prince and Kit Wilson at non-televised live events this summer.
The MCMG rumored for WWE PLE debut
Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley formed The Motor City Machine Guns in 2006. Since then, the Detroit natives have worked close to 500 matches together in TNA, ROH, NJPW, AEW, numerous indie promotions, and now WWE.
The Guns remain undefeated in World Wrestling Entertainment after their first five bouts, all on SmackDown. It remains to be seen when Sabin and Shelley will make their debuts at non-televised live events, but their PLE debut is expected for the Survivor Series: WarGames, which is scheduled for Saturday, November 30, in Vancouver, BC.
The Motor City Machine Guns have not been confirmed for Survivor Series, but a Triple Threat is rumored to be coming out of Friday's double taping. The Street Profits and DIY are expected to challenge MCMG for the WWE Tag Team Championship at the premium live event.
