"It's not all that drinking and drugs" - AJ Styles' stance with regard to his kids joining WWE
AJ Styles was recently asked whether his kids are interested in joining WWE. The Phenomenal One, who has been signed to the global juggernaut promotion for seven years and counting, revealed that his attitude has changed over the years.
The 45-year-old veteran was an independent wrestler and a TNA Original before joining the Stamford-based promotion. Since his arrival in 2016, Styles has become a two-time WWE Champion, among many other championships and accomplishments.
In an interview with Inside The Ropes, AJ Styles talked about his eldest son, now 18, revealing that the latter is interested in baseball:
"He's chasing his dream in baseball, so he's still got one more year of high school, and then, you know, go to college and play," Styles stated. "But we'll see where that ends up. It's not for everybody. [Although] He has more potential than I ever had to do greater things than I had."
AJ then stated that if his kids eventually come to him at some point, telling him that it didn't work out and asking the legend to train them, he'd be more than happy to do so. Whilst years ago he would not have approved of it, things are different now:
"I think where we're at in WWE and other places, it's a better atmosphere than it's ever been. It's not all that drinking and drugs — I'm not saying it doesn't go on — but it's not all about that as it was before." [From 7:26 onwards]
The Phenomenal One is scheduled to face Seth "Freakin" Rollins at Night of Champions, as both stars are contending to become the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion.
However, he should hold another title in 2023, considering the plethora of opponents looking to take down the legendary star on the blue brand. Read more here.
AJ Styles calls major heel WWE Superstar a "good, respectful kid"
Dominik Mysterio is one of the top heels in the business today. As part of the RAW roster and a member of The Judgment Day, the young Mysterio has made a name for himself in the past few months. He wound up facing his father on The Grandest Stage Of Them All this year.
AJ Styles spoke highly of Dom when the latter was brought up in the aforementioned conversation:
"Can you imagine, traveling and working with your son?" Styles asked the interviewer. "That sounds great to me. That'd be fun. And Dom's, I know he plays a great character, but he's an even better person in real life. He's a good, respectful kid, and so, can't say enough great things about him. So his dad must have done something right."
The veteran recently faced Rey Mysterio on SmackDown in a triple threat match, also featuring Styles' former WrestleMania opponent, Edge.
