"It's so easy to hate" Cody Rhodes, says WWE legend, who is not amused by his title reign
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has become sort of a controversial name among the veterans of the wrestling industry. A ubiquitous sentiment is that he is a natural heel and not the babyface he is being presented as.
WWE Hall of Famer, Rikishi echoed this on his podcast a few days ago. He feels that The American Nightmare needs to be a heel sooner rather than later. Speaking on Rikishi Fatu Off The Top, the 59-year-old discussed Rhodes' title reign, which has entered its seventh month.
The Hall of Famer rated it a six out of ten, addressing the pressure he has as champion.
"I think it's a six. [Cody Rhodes is] trying so hard. To be a babyface champion of the company, that's a lot of pressure. It's a lot of work, you know, shaking hands, kissing babies and all that stuff. In the mean time, you got so much responsibility on your back being the face of the company. You're trying to be the best role model and champion during that time," he said.
Rikishi added that Cody Rhodes dressed immaculately in his fancy suits gave off the vibe of a modern-day 'Million Dollar Man,' which screams heel. According to the Hall of Famer, "it's easy to hate" the character The American Nightmare portrays on-screen.
"Cody's a great worker, but for me, I just feel he can be a better heel. He's that guy with a suave look, and he's a white boy. Come on. He's got the suits on. It's almost like a Million Dollar Man type of vibe, a new era Million Dollar Man, just that heat seeker, you know, 'When I tell you to do something, do it. Here's your tip right here.' Throw him 50 cents or something. You know, that type because it's so easy when you look at it, for me, it's so easy to hate him," he added.

At Bad Blood, WWE CCO, Triple H, announced a new annual program for the upcoming premium live event — a champion vs. champion showdown for the Crown Jewel Championship.
This Crown Jewel Championship is exclusive to the Saudi Arabia premium live event. With The Ring General's successful title defense against Sami Zayn last week, the first-ever bout between Gunther and Cody Rhodes was made official.
Wrestling legend, Jim Cornette, weighed in on the contest, picking his winner and explaining whether this bout will ultimately affect The Ring General.
