"It's a graceful exit" - Wrestling veteran on what WWE should do with CM Punk and Drew McIntyre after Hell in a Cell match

Legendary wrestling manager Jim Cornette has commented on what WWE should do with CM Punk and Drew McIntyre after Bad Blood. The two stars collided in a brutal Hell in a Cell match last Saturday.

The Second City Saint appeared on RAW this week, but The Scottish Warrior was absent. That was their third, and most likely, last match together, as their feud has seemingly been settled. They made each other bleed like they said they were going to, but in the end, only one of them walked out victorious that night, and it was Punk.

Speaking on the latest edition of the Jim Cornette Experience, the WWE veteran stated that CM Punk and Drew McIntyre can go their separate ways by feuding with other people and that one or both of them need to be off TV for some time.

"I don't honestly know that you can do anything else with them, with each other right now. And it wouldn't hurt for one, or maybe both, to be off, selling the injuries for a while. (...) If one of them is off for a few weeks so that the other one could get involved in another thing with another person, and then that person comes back later on and gets involved with somebody else, it's not as obvious a split, right, 'cause they still hate each other," said Cornette.

He added:

"If you were thinking logically, why would Drew want to quit now, but the answer is that somebody else attracts his eye or Punk gets involved with somebody else. It's a graceful exit." (13:00-14:13)

WWE still has plans for a Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk match

The Visionary and The Voice of the Voiceless were supposed to face each other at WrestleMania XL for the World Heavyweight Championship, but the bout was scrapped after CM Punk got injured. They had a confrontation on WWE RAW this week.

According to reports, WWE seemingly still has plans for a match between CM Punk and Seth Rollins. The bout could take place at WrestleMania 41 next year. Wrestling fans have wanted to see these two stars wrestle for a long time in WWE, so it'll be a highly-anticipated match.
