"It's a slobberknocker!" – WWE legend reacts to Jim Ross romance revelation (Exclusive)
Legendary wrestling manager Missy Hyatt recently revealed she dated Jim Ross after the commentator's wife Jan passed away in 2017. Many names from the wrestling world have shared their reactions to the surprising news, including WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long.
Hyatt disclosed details about her relationship with Ross on Rene Dupree's Cafe de Rene show. A viewer jokingly asked whether the former valet would be romantically interested in the AEW announcer. She unexpectedly responded by saying they rocked each other's worlds for two years before separating.
Long, one of Ross' former co-workers, laughed out loud when discussing the story on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine. He also light-heartedly said, "It's a slobberknocker!" referencing JR's iconic commentary catchphrase.
Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter sees no problem with Ross dating Hyatt, especially considering his wife passed away two years before the relationship began:
"Sometimes when people lose the love of their life, things change, you get lonely, you meet people, you get close with people you've known in the past, and these things kinda happen when people just kinda grab onto each other and help each other out, so there's nothing wrong with them doing it." Apter added that he is unsure whether Ross would have wanted Hyatt to share information about their relationship:
"Whether Jim Ross wanted that known publicly or not, I don't know. But if it was something they both felt benefited both of them in an emotional way as well, because everybody's thinking about this physically, but emotionally this was probably right for both of them." [From 03:32 – 03:52]

Mac Davis on the online reaction to Jim Ross and Missy Hyatt's relationship
News of the romance gained traction on social media, with many wrestling fans expressing their surprise at Missy Hyatt's revelation.
The Wrestling Time Machine host Mac Davis noticed that Hyatt received some criticism online after going public with the relationship:
"I thoroughly believe every bit of what she says. I do wanna say that I know both Jim and Missy, and I think it's great. If he did, he did. Go for it. Missy's getting dragged online, though. I do see that." [From 02:50 – 03:08]
While Jim Ross is still a commentator today, Hyatt is best remembered for her time in WCW. She also had a brief stint in WWE in 1987.
