"It's still The Bloodline" - Rikishi draws unexpected comparison between Jey Uso and 26-year-old WWE star

WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi recently made a surprising comparison between Jey Uso and his 26-year-old rival. The legendary wrestler was enamored with the buildup of Jey's Intercontinental Championship match against Bron Breakker on RAW two weeks ago.

Before Jey became the new Intercontinental Champion, he had a backstage segment with Breakker. They brought up the history between their families, specifically The Headshrinkers and The Steiner Brothers.

Speaking on the most recent episode of his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi praised the work Jey and Bron put into their feud. He even brought up The Bloodline to compare the parallel between the two superstars given that they both came from wrestling families, no matter the size.

"Both of them have been doing their homework. You can tell they're both passionate about it. You can tell that they have responsibility because you cannot get away from where your Bloodline comes. Be it a big Bloodline or a small Bloodline, it's still The Bloodline and they're going to have to mention… It only makes sense that people's going to know you, where you come from. So I'm sure that Rick Steiner was happy, Scott was happy, because we used to mix it up together," Rikishi said. [From 18:52 to 19:35]

WWE Hall of Famer reacts to Jey Uso's championship win

During the latest episode of Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray discussed Jey Uso's first-ever singles championship win. He was a fan of the title change and its unpredictability. He even prefers the idea of championships changing hands on the weekly shows.

"I hope they re-adopt the 'anything can happen at any given time' type of scenario. Nobody in Ontario thought that they were getting that title change last night, but they did. I want to be able to go into Raw, or SmackDown, NXT, Dynamite, no matter what, I'm talking about the wrestling business as a whole, never knowing when a championship can change hands," Bully Ray said. Jey Uso became the first wrestler since Gunther to win the Intercontinental Championship on WWE television. It was also the first IC title win on RAW since Bobby Lashley defeated Finn Balor on the March 11, 2019 episode.
