"It's been way too long" - Major WWE name has eyes on the World Heavyweight Championship
WWE changed the landscape of Monday Night RAW when Triple H announced the return of the World Heavyweight Championship after years. Recently, Braun Strowman expressed his interest in holding a title in the company, especially the big gold belt.
Last year, the World Heavyweight Championship returned to the red brand, and the superstars in the locker room were suddenly flooded with fresh opportunities. As of writing only three people have held the latest version of the belt and the champions have usually been protected in WWE, with Drew McIntyre the only one missing out.
In a recent appearance on The Ringer Wrestling Show, Braun Strowman addressed his previous match against Damian Priest. Strowman also stated he's very interested in Priest's upcoming title defense against Gunther, as it had been long since he held a title and he wanted to get his hands on the World Heavyweight Championship.
"I'm watching this match [Damian Priest vs. Gunther] because the monster is lurking in the shadows and it's about time I got my hands on some gold again. It's been way too long," Strowman said. [From 05:45 to 05:54]

Braun Strowman wants to face major WWE name at WrestleMania 41
Braun Strowman's return to WWE has been pretty rocky in the past few years. Upon returning to the Stamford-based promotion, he had a short run as a singles star before forming a tag team with Ricochet.
The Monster Among Men then got injured and went on a long hiatus from the company. After returning, the WWE Superstar targeted The Judgment Day and went head-to-head against Damian Priest in singles action in a losing cause.
Nevertheless, Braun Strowman has moved past the loss and has a plan in mind for WrestleMania 41. In a recent interview on WWE Deutschland, Strowman stated that he would like to face Drew McIntyre with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line in Las Vegas.
Strowman had great admiration for The Scottish Warrior and said he had even discussed a potential feud with the latter. He noted that despite being close to it coming to fruition, it just hadn't happened yet. He still hopes this much-vaunted rivalry does take shape soon and culminate at The Show of Shows next year.
"Drew McIntyre for the World Heavyweight Championship. He and I have talked about this, and [have] wanted this, and [have] been close to getting it. It hasn't happened, but I think he and I need a good feud that has a payoff at WrestleMania. We're both two larger-than-life titans walking on this earth with the rest of these peasants in the locker room. I think it's time they gave the big boys the spotlight. Let us go out there and let us do what we do," Strowman said. [From 24:00 to 24:33]
