"It was a shoot" - Bill Apter shares his thoughts on recent WWE RAW segment (Exclusive)
According to Hall of Fame journalist Bill Apter, a recent promo on WWE RAW was too real to be called a work. The segment in question saw Erick Rowan getting candid about Bray Wyatt and Brodie Lee's passing.
Over the last few weeks, The Wyatt Sicks has captured the attention of fans with its uniquely crafted segments. The creative team seemingly plans to introduce all the members of the group through individual interviews. Rowan showed up last week to disclose why he joined the eerie faction. In the process, he also paid tribute to both Bray Wyatt and Brodie Lee (fka Luke Harper in WWE).
Discussing the segment on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine, hosted by Mac Davis, Bill Apter highlighted how Rowan poured his heart out during the abovementioned segment while remembering his former Wyatt Family stablemates.
"It was a shoot, definitely, about how much he [Erick] missed him [Bray Wyatt] and Brody. Real shoot. You can tell that that was not an [sic] acting, you know we will do take two or anything, you know. He poured his heart out in that promo and it really moved me." [8:32 onwards]
WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long also had a similar reaction.
"All I am gonna say is that was real." [9:10 onwards]
Bill Apter previously commented on The Wyatt Sicks not appearing at WWE Money in the Bank 2024
While Bill Apter liked the Erick Rowan segment, he seemingly has some doubts about The Wyatt Sicks' booking in WWE. The group has targeted Chad Gable multiple times since its debut.
On another episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine, hosted by Mac Davis, the Hall of Famer talked about how the company did the right thing by not booking The Wyatt Sicks to interfere in the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
"I am very glad that they did not interfere in the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match to cost Chad Gable. I thought when he was hanging there, the lights were gonna go off and then he would be gone. So I am glad that they didn't do that because I think everybody knows at this point that my feeling's [sic] with The Wyatt Sicks is that maybe once a year just to pay tribute to Bray Wyatt. So now that his brother was in with Adam Pearce, and not looking like anything monstrous or anything, maybe they've had a change of heart. They're gonna do something else and not have this whole dark thing go." [3:08 onwards]
For now, it remains to be seen what is in store for The Wyatt Sicks in WWE. Will the group appear at SummerSlam on August 3? Only time will tell.
