"It was us against the company" - Ronda Rousey reflects on making history with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in WWE

Former WWE Superstar Ronda Rousey has reflected on making history at WrestleMania 35. She, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair were the first women to headline the event.

The Baddest Woman on the Planet was the RAW Women's Champion going into The Grandest Stage of Them All in 2019 while The Queen was the SmackDown Women's Champion. They both lost their titles to Becky Lynch, who pinned the UFC Hall of Famer to emerge victorious. Rousey suffered her first pinfall loss that night.

Speaking to Denise Salcedo in a recent interview, Ronda Rousey looked back on the match and stated that WWE didn't have a choice but to make it the main event because of how hot the storyline was. She added that it felt like they were fighting with the company to make that moment happen.

"You know, it wasn't anything that anyone planned for us, it was just something that the time had come and we couldn't be stopped. And the WWE Universe felt it and we felt it and there was nothing that the company could do to stop us, like all they could do was just give in and let us do it. And I think it was a moment of time that can't ever be recreated because I think now the company, especially now in Triple H's hands, they know the potential and the power that the women have and it almost in that time seemed like it was us against the company and against what they wanted," said Rousey. WWE is open to bringing back Ronda Rousey for another run

The Baddest Woman on the Planet parted ways with WWE in 2023 after competing in her last match at that year's SummerSlam, where she lost to Shayna Baszler. Ronda Rousey heavily criticized the company and Vince McMahon after her departure, and stated that she would never go back to WWE.

Despite that, the wrestling juggernaut is still open to bringing her back. WWE Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and Head of Communications Chris Legentil spoke positively about Ronda Rousey on Sports Media and stated that they are open to communicating with her to discuss doing business again.
