IYO SKY is planned to lose upcoming WWE title match, says veteran (Exclusive)
IYO SKY is undoubtedly among the most talented stars in WWE's Women's division. However, a veteran thinks she is being booked to lose at an upcoming title match.
Bill Apter recently discussed the upcoming match where IYO is slated to face Liv Morgan at Saturday Night's Main Event, one of the most anticipated PLEs of the year. The Women's World Championship will also be on the line, making this an important match for IYO. However, the veteran journalist thinks Liv will probably retain the belt.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Bill Apter stated:
"I think that they have made this because the styles of the rough house version of Liv Morgan and the flying style of IYO SKY are going to take the viewers who are watching wrestling for the first time in years on NBC, on the network, and see these two women perform against each other. And it's a great clash of styles I think. But I don't think IYO SKY is going to win the belt."
Apter added:
"I think people are still enamored with the ring style of Liv Morgan, her looks and everything. And she is really good in the ring. I think they are gonna keep the belt up on her." [0:45 onwards]
Another WWE veteran thinks IYO SKY could dethrone Liv Morgan
While Bill Apter seems certain that Liv will retain her belt, Vince Russo is not so sure.
Speaking on Writing with Russo, the WWE veteran explained why IYO could also be booked to win the title. He said that the challenger was also very popular among fans at this point, which could tip the scales in her favor:
"That is tricky and I'll tell you why. Liv has done a fantastic job, she's done a great job. But somebody there loves IYO SKY bro. I don't know who it is. I don't know if it's Trips (Triple H), I don't know who. Somebody loves her. So the bottomline is they definitely should not beat Liv. But I would not be surprised if they did."
Only time will tell how the match will pan out at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event.
