Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair losing at Clash at the Castle was NOT a surprise, according to WWE Hall of Famer (Exclusive)

Given the fact that Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill have not had too long of a run as the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, their loss at Clash at the Castle came as a surprise to many. However, a particular Hall of Famer apparently did not find it unusual.

The WWE Hall of Famer in question, Teddy Long, was recently asked about his thoughts on the Triple Threat match between Jade & Bianca, Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark, and the Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn). Despite the match seemingly going the way of the defending champions, Isla Dawn was able to seize an opportunity to pick up a pinfall win.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Teddy Long stated:

"Well, kinda, in a way, no not really... Well that overseas market is gonna be a big money market for this company. So that's what they are thinking about. They also understand this is entertainment. But like I said, maybe, we don't know what's gonna happen after this. Maybe when they come back to the states, they may have some other plans for Bianca and Jade." [From 01:22 onwards]

The former SmackDown General Manager further added:

"I think they did something for where they were, because they know they are gonna go back there... Maybe when they do go back, they may have rematch there, and the girls may take it back then, if they don't do something before then." [From 02:45 onwards]

Bill Apter also agreed with the WWE Hall of Famer

This year's WWE Clash at the Castle took place in Glasgow, Scotland. The event featured many Scottish talents, including Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn.

Teddy Long's thoughts on Unholy Union winning the Women's Tag Team Titles were similar to that of the veteran journalist, Bill Apter, who also thought that the venue of the premium live event had a lot to do with deciding the winner.

On the same episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine, Apter stated:

"No no, they are hometown girls. They had to do something to give a hometown... somebody a big win there. And I think that, you know, Jade and Bianca... neither of them were pinned. So, doesn't hurt them at all." [From 0:40 onwards]

On the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, Bianca Belair competed in a Money in the Bank qualifying match against Michin and the eventual winner Chelsea Green. Jade Cargill will also be in action in an MITB qualifying match next week on blue brand. It will be interesting to see if Jade and Belair go after the Women's Tag Team Championship in the coming weeks.
