Jade Cargill reacts to Shane McMahon and Tony Khan's meeting (Exclusive)

Shane McMahon and Tony Khan became the talk of the wrestling world this week when a picture of their recent meeting emerged online. Jade Cargill, a former member of Khan's AEW roster, gave her thoughts on the big story ahead of WWE's SummerSlam weekend.

Cargill wrestled for AEW between 2020 and 2023 before joining WWE. The 32-year-old established herself as one of the hottest prospects in the wrestling business while working under Khan.

Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter and host Dr. Chris Featherstone spoke to Cargill in Cleveland before SummerSlam. Asked about Khan and McMahon's meeting, she had nothing but positive things to say about her former employer:

"I mean, good for them," Cargill said. "I feel like I'm focused here at WWE. I'm excited for what we're bringing to the table. But, at the end of the day, there's a lot of opportunities and I'm not one to sit back and shun on anybody. That's great for him. That's more opportunities for all of us, but I'm more so focused on the WWE bubble and what we got going on here." [2:39 – 2:58]

Speaking on Busted Open After Dark, Bully Ray revealed what McMahon told him about his conversation with Tony Khan:

"Tony and I were connected through a mutual friend and we had a great meeting," McMahon's statement read. "We talked about many things, but mostly about our shared love for the business and the rewards and challenges of working with family. I congratulated him on the five-year anniversary of AEW and look forward to how he evolves the business moving forward."

McMahon's last WWE appearance came in 2023 at WrestleMania 39, where he suffered a quad tear during an impromptu match against The Miz. According to Fightful Select, Vince McMahon's son is no longer contracted to WWE.
