Jade Cargill reveals major issue she’s having with current tag team partner following move to WWE
Jade Cargill has been with WWE for just over 10 months now and is steadily becoming a top superstar. The rising star linked up with Bianca Belair to form one of the more dominant tag teams of the women's division. Amid the success, Cargill has revealed a brewing issue between the two.
Big Jade and The EST have been teaming since their win over Damage CTRL at WrestleMania XL. Their first reign with the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship ended at just 42 days, but they have continued to out-perform the competition. The grapplers try to wear multiple outfits during the same show, and are known for their matching looks and double-team arsenal of moves.
Cargill told TV Insider that she and Belair put a lot of thinking and efforts into their outfits, but Bianca makes her own, and Jade does not. The former AEW TBS Champion said they are both into fashion and enjoy touching on relevant subjects, adding that the "amazing" collaboration works because they have their own ideas but meet in the middle. Jade also revealed one issue they struggle with when asked about some of the looks she's always wanted to do after using superhero gear in AEW.
"[Bianca] is not big into anime or that world, so I’m trying to get her to mosey over and wear something. I was trying to get her to wear something in Japan. She was like, 'Jade, I’m not,'" Jade Cargill said.
The interviewer pressed for details, and Cargill recalled how she wanted to dress up as Street Fighter characters while in Japan, but Belair was not interested. The 32-year-old expressed optimism for the future.
"I was trying to do Street Fighter characters. She said, 'Hey, I’m not into anime or this, so I’m going to leave that to you guys.' I was like, 'Alright, I’m going to do my thing.' But I’m trying to get her to get warm to it. Let’s hope we see it in the future," Jade Cargill said.
Cargill ended up dressing as Mirko from the My Hero Academia series at the July 26 event in Tokyo. She thanked fans on social media for the cosplay suggestion. Belair's gear did not match that night. The WWE tour kicked off on July 25 in Osaka with Cargill, Belair, Bayley, and Meiko Satomura defeating Tiffany Stratton, Kairi Sane, IYO SKY, and Dakota Kai. The same match happened the next night in Tokyo, while Jade and Bianca were defeated by Kai and SKY on the final night in Tokyo.
WWE SmackDown title match ends in controversy
Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair are being advertised to appear on Friday's WWE SmackDown. The post-SummerSlam episode will air live from the BOK Center in Tulsa.
Last week's SmackDown saw The Unholy Union retain the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship over Cargill and Belair via disqualification. The DQ came when Blair Davenport prevented the title change by sending Cargill into the post. Davenport, Alba Fyre, and Isla Dawn continued the attack after the match.
WWE has not confirmed another rematch for Cargill and Belair as of this writing. They won the titles from The Kabuki Warriors on May 4 at Backlash France, but dropped them to Fyre and Dawn 42 days later at Clash at the Castle: Scotland.
