James Storm reveals whether he wants to reform 'Beer Money' with Robert Roode if he joins WWE
It's hard to argue against the fact that Beer Money was one of the most significant tag teams in Impact Wrestling history. They had more success than virtually every tag team to enter and exit the promotion and James Storm and Bobby (Robert) Roode would also face off for the TNA World Championship.
Speaking of James Storm, he recently revealed that he was supposed to join WWE after WrestleMania 36, but the COVID-19 pandemic changed everything. In an interview with Lucha Libre Online's Michael Morales Torres, he said that he had no ill feelings towards WWE - understanding that they would retract their contract offer to him because of the pandemic.
Stating that it's "just business", James Storm hasn't closed the door on a possible WWE contract. The last time he was in WWE was in 2015 when he made a couple of appearances in NXT - receiving a great reaction. He wasn't on contract then, however, and took the offer that Impact Wrestling gave him instead.
In the same interview with Lucha Libre Online, James Storm was asked about whether he would be open to reuniting with Robert Roode to reform Beer Money, Inc. Interestingly, he not only said that he is, but he revealed that nobody owns the rights to the tag team name:
It's one of those things where you know, I know a lot of guys up there who want to work with Beer Money. The thing is that no one owns that name so I mean, if we wanted to use it, we could use that name. I'm sure that Bobby's the same way. I don't want to go in and I don't want to step on anyone's toes if he's doing something good and they got him in some main event picture. You know, I'm happy for him and I'm sure Bobby is the same way like either. If we're a Tag team, we'll make it the best we can again. But as singles, we like beating the crap out of each other as well. So we could. Me and him to put on really good matches against each other. It’s one of those things that if they want Beer Money, I'm sure both of us would do it. But if they want to do just singles, that's great too.
Would Beer Money be the best utilization for James Storm in WWE?
Given James Storm and Robert Roode's age, it's safe to assume that they're unlikely to get a main event push. While there are normally a few exceptions, WWE may do what they did with John Morrison's return by pairing him up with The Miz.
In WWE's eyes, it would make a lot of sense to put James Storm and Robert Roode together since both brands have shallow tag team divisions. A Beer Money reunion would be good for James Storm and WWE's Tag Team division as it would add some fresh blood.
