JBL takes hilarious shot at WWE legend
John Bradshaw Layfield has taken a hilarious shot at a WWE legend today on social media. The veteran has not competed in a match since the 2014 Men's Royal Rumble Match.
United States Champion, Logan Paul's brother, Jake Paul has found success in the boxing world. Jake introduced a punching machine with his face on it and JBL reacted with a hilarious message on social media. He stated that he wanted one of the punch machines with legendary WWE ring announcer, Tony Chimel's face on it.
"Can I get one with @TheTonyChimel," he wrote.
JBL was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2020 and is a former world champion with the Stamford-based promotion. He was a part of the popular tag team Acolytes Protection Agency (APA) with Ron Simmons. The veteran also spent several years on commentary at the company and recently managed Baron Corbin on the main roster.
Former WWE writer discloses he had heat with JBL after making an honest remark
Wrestling veteran, Vince Russo recently shared that he had backstage heat with JBL after telling him The New Blackjacks would never get over.
JBL and Barry Windham honored Blackjack Lanza and Blackjack Mulligan by competing as The New Blackjacks between 1997 and 1998. Speaking on an edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Outlaws show earlier this year, Russo stated that he had heat with JBL and Windham after telling them that the tag team would never get over with fans. He suggested that some wrestlers would rather be lied to than told the truth.
"I remember sitting down with them and telling them The New Blackjacks are never gonna get over," Russo said. "'This is never gonna get over. This is never gonna work.' I was being honest with them. Well, bro, because I was honest with them, I then had heat with them. So, I came to the conclusion, bro, that there are some talents that literally wanted to be lied to." [From 07:31 – 07:58]

JBL has admitted that he has no idea why his partnership with Baron Corbin ended. Corbin competed with Apollo Crews this past Friday night in a Tag Team Gauntlet Match to become the number-one contender for the WWE Tag Team Championship, ultimately won by The Bloodline's Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga.
