Jey Uso opens up on the past year without his brother Jimmy: "Kind of don't see him no more"
Jey Uso has been a singles wrestler for the past year after he walked out on his family, The Bloodline on SmackDown. He has now opened up on his life as a singles star.
Ever since The Usos debuted in WWE, they have been a tag team. Together, they have dominated the tag team division in WWE and are one of the most decorated tag teams of all time. However, their tag team union had to come to a halt last year.
After Jimmy Uso cost Jey his match against Roman Reigns, the latter attacked his brother on SmackDown and then quit The Bloodline. Since then, Jey and Jimmy have been at loggerheads and had a match at WrestleMania XL. But Jey has been pursuing a career as a singles star and is now one of the biggest stars on WWE RAW. During his time as a singles wrestler, Jey also received multiple title opportunities, only to be foiled by Jimmy Uso.
Jey was part of the Fanatics Fest Ring Revolutionaries panel along with Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. During the panel discussion, Jey opened up on his first year in the business as a singles wrestler.
"I never looked at myself like a singles wrestler. [I'm] always with my brother from day one. I mean from the sandbox all the way up. This past year is my first year, you know, alone, you know, kind of don't see him no more. We don't ride together as much. (...) I'm just riding a ride, you know." [18:30 - 18:54]
Jey Uso opens up on his meteoric rise in popularity
Ever since Jey Uso left The Bloodline, his stock has only seemed to increase. He is now one of the most popular stars on the entire roster.
During the same panel discussion, Jey mentioned that he never expected to receive so much love and support from the fans but attributed it all to his hard work.
"No, Uce. No, I never imagined that I'd hit this level, you know. I just show up every week like we always do and we go to work man. I really believe though hard work really pays off, Uce, you know. You hear me kids. Yeet!" [17:00 - 17:33]
Although Jey Uso's popularity has risen, he is still yet to win his first singles championship and would be hoping to cross that off his list soon.
