WWE News: Jim Ross comments on a possible WWE return
WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross recently had a talk with Jan Murphy of Toronto Sun, where he promoted his one-man show in Toronto as a part of the Survivor Series weekend. Ross was asked about a potential return to the WWE, Here is what he had to say:
(WWE knows) that if they got into a bind somewhere down the road and they need my services for something that I’d be there in a heartbeat, and I would”
Ross added that he would not go back on a full-time basis at this stage of his life. He wishes to have his independence to some extent so that he can choose the projects of his interest, thus allowing him to balance his personal and professional lives optimally.

Ross also wants the WWE to know that he was always there for them.:
“Jim Ross is not the future. Jim Ross is a viable part of the past”
Ross stated that he has a good relationship with the WWE in spite of the rumours stating otherwise,
“I communicate with them at the highest level on a regular basis and enjoy it. But it's not something that I throw out there for public consumption. My relationship with WWE, I believe, is very positive.”
Apart from that, Ross spoke about the current state of wrestling promotions, Here is his say on the topic:
“WWE’s healthy financially, Ring of Honor is healthy financially, we know that TNA is having some issues, but hopefully they’ll get back on their feet and continue to attempt to be viable in the marketplace”
He added that most wrestling promotions being in a healthy financial state is a positive sign for the overall sport of pro-wrestling. Ross also stressed the importance of financial independence and stated that he was happy to see wrestlers earning well while working full time.
The soon to turn 64-year-old, further spoke about his new book which will be published in 2017,
“We'll hit our deadline and the publisher's goal is for the book to be released next fall so, part of the 2017 holiday buying season."
Despite the promising growth by wrestling promotions all over the globe, Ross expressed his disappointment with the fans as according to him, they seem to have forgotten how to enjoy the product like they used to before:
“We seemingly live in a society of contrarians. It's easier to always look at a glass half empty.”
Jim Ross has been one of the most influential characters in the history of the WWE, having worked there as a commentator and as a talent relations consultant.
He has been widely acclaimed as the greatest colour commentator ever in WWE history and is famously known for his emotional delivery and signature catchphrases. WWE could definitely use him despite having an excess of available commentators currently. He’d certainly be a welcome addition to the shows.
