WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has had a long and storied career, a majority of which was spent in WWE. Ross, who is now with AEW, was not just a commentator in WWE, but also involved in talent relations.

On his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross spoke about another WWE Hall of Famer Yokozuna, and how the 6'4" wrestler had to face several issues due to his size.

Ross revealed that Yokozuna had struggled with weight and heart issues which led to his release from WWE, and his weight did not reduce even after leaving WWE.

Jim Ross on the issues WWE Hall of Famer Yokozuna faced while travelling

JR spoke about the trouble Yokozuna faced while travelling, as his huge size was an issue for him. He said that Yokozuna was comfortable travelling by car, as he could stop to address nature's call, but found it tough while travelling by airplane.

Ross said that Yokozuna was comfortable in first class by air and that WWE's "travel people" took care of Yokozuna, like they did with Andre the Giant.

"There's not much you can do. He couldn't fit in a couch seat, he flew in first class. The travel people took care of Yoko per our instructions, much like they did Andre [The Giant]. He could get in a van and spread out, literally, and chill. He was used to more car trips because he could say, 'I need to go to the bathroom', then you'd find yourself a spot and do your thing. In an airplane, you have one choice; you don't have a king size bathroom you can use. He had troubles getting in and getting out." (H/T WrestlingInc)

In the same podcast, JR revealed that WWE had enrolled Yokozuna in a programme to help him reduce weight, but he returned weighing more than he did when he joined the programme.

Yokozuna was released by WWE in 1996 due to weight and heart issues, with JR revealing that Vince McMahon himself called up Yokozuna to inform him about his release from WWE.
