Joe Hendry became an internet sensation after he debuted in WWE NXT a few weeks ago. He failed to make it big in the 25-man Battle Royal but did enough to gain fans’ attention and become the talk of the town. While the star was already quite popular among wrestling fans, his appearance in WWE boosted his fan approval big time.
WWE could book Hendry in some rivalries on WWE NXT for as long as the company's partnership with TNA keeps going. That could allow him to challenge Ethan Page for the NXT Title soon, and also bring him face-to-face with some other top stars.
WWE NXT’s boss likes Joe Hendry
Shawn Michaels and Joe Hendry had a confrontation after the latter was eliminated from the 25-man Battle Royal quickly. Fans are now waiting to see whether the TNA star will appear again in the company.
Speaking to Inside the Ropes, Shawn Michaels said that he would love to work with Hendry in the future. That could see him move to the brand sometime soon.
"The short dealings that I had with him, I liked him a great deal. So again, nothing would thrill me more than to have the opportunity to work with Joe Hendry in the future. I think he would tell you the same thing, he is someone who wants to continue to grow and move up."
It would be great to see what he is capable of in the ring. A rivalry in NXT could set him up for a future WWE contract. It would indeed be a great stepping stone for the 36-year-old.
