John Cena is bringing "a money-making festival" to WWE, according to legend

John Cena recently announced his retirement tour at the WWE Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. Fans are still coming to terms with the fact that The Chain Gang Soldier is stepping away from the ring, and a legend believes that could earn the Stamford-based company a lot of money. That would be Eric Bischoff.

Not many superstars have had a career quite like John Cena’s. He is regarded as the greatest of all time by the company itself, and very few will object to that claim.

Wrestling legend Eric Bischoff recently appeared on his 83 Weeks podcast to discuss Cena announcing his retirement beforehand. He noted that the move was likely made to ensure that WWE makes the most money out of it.

"It’s going to be printing money, especially you’re announcing it a year in advance. You’ve got all these events between now and then. And everyone of them is going to be special and everyone of them is going to have special merchandise, I'm sure. It’s just going to be a money-making festival over at TKO and WWE," Eric Bischoff said. [1:10 - 1:48]

The 69-year-old veteran may not be wrong, as even fans of yesterday would like to tune in to watch John Cena perform in the ring for the last time. Announcing the retirement tour beforehand will allow the company to build some big rivalries heading into The Champ's final match.

John Cena could give WWE’s Next Big Thing a push on his way out, says Eric Bischoff

A few young stars could get matches against John Cena in his retirement tour. Eric Bischoff believes Bron Breakker should be one of those men.

The former RAW General Manager believes that WWE should have Bron beat Cena in his final match to make a statement. Bischoff thinks that it is something The Greatest of All Time would like to do, and the company should use that to push The Big Bad Booty Nephew.

"I would start out with people from John's past. That's where I'd start for the nostalgia, right? And to let the story and the momentum and the whole idea of John Cena's retirement continue to build. (...) And then you start working into [sic] the younger, hungrier, up-and-coming talent. And let John have them all. Build that momentum. Build that momentum. And then, whoever the next big deal is going to be, Bron Breakker. (...) I'd let Bron beat him. Have John put him over one, two, three. And knowing John, it's probably what he'll want to do, whether it's Bron or somebody else. He's not gonna want to go out with a win," Eric Bischoff said.

It would be great to see someone like Bron Breakker or Carmelo Hayes get the final match against Cena. They are ready to get the big push that could take them to new heights in WWE.
