John Cena confirms participation in major WWE match
John Cena confirmed on social media today that he will be competing in a major upcoming WWE match. The Cenation Leader appeared at Money in the Bank earlier this year to announce that he would be retiring from in-ring competition in 2025.
WWE shared a video today on social media featuring John Cena. The legend announced that he would be competing in his final Royal Rumble event in Indianapolis in 2025. Cena promoted the premium live event, and you can check out the video in the post below.
"Those are strong words, the last time is now, and in 2025, there will be a myriad of history-making events. The last time I will ever compete in a Royal Rumble event is February 1st, Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Eric Bischoff comments on what it was like working with John Cena in WWE
Wrestling legend Eric Bischoff recently commented on working with John Cena in WWE and stated that the veteran was a class act.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's What Were They Thinking? show, available via Backstage Pass, the former RAW General Manager shared that John Cena was always a positive influence to be around. The Hall of Famer added that he enjoyed being around Cena and never saw him give anyone an attitude backstage.
"Such a class act, was then, still is. I just enjoyed being around him, working with him. He was always positive. I never saw anything that remotely looked like an attitude. He was just always really positive and eager. And I liked being around that kind of energy." (14:59 - 15:20)
John Cena has not been in action since the April 8, 2024, edition of WWE RAW. He teamed up with The Miz and R-Truth (Awesome Truth) to defeat The Judgment Day's Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor, and JD McDonagh in a Six-Man Tag Team match. Only time will tell if the 47-year-old can win the Men's Royal Rumble match next year.
