John Cena discusses plans involving The Rock following WWE retirement announcement at Money in the Bank

WWE Superstar John Cena recently talked about plans involving The Rock after announcing his retirement at the 2024 Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. Fans present in the arena got very emotional after listening to this announcement.

The Cenation Leader and The Great One are two of the greatest names to ever step inside the squared circle in World Wrestling Entertainment. The duo have competed against each other on two occasions with both of them taking a win. Many fans want to see the legendary rivalry once again in the Stamford-based promotion now that Cena has announced that he will retire from WWE next year.

During the Money in the Bank post-show press conference, John Cena was asked about a potential clash with The Rock in his last WWE run. The 16-time World Champion said that there was always unfinished business in professional wrestling.

However, Cena also mentioned that he does not want to cherry-pick his opponents himself as he would rather tell a great story with whatever the creative will have for him.

"Great question. Umm, there's always unfinished business in the WWE, which probably makes this announcement extremely surprising cause I'm trying to close up shop here. I don't and have never put much stock in expectations that are beyond my control and I've tried to lead in existence where I can control what I can. And I am in no position to hand-pick opponents. I've always had a wonderful time challenging myself, telling stories with whatever hand I was dealt. So I think that's part of the allure and part of the excitement of what we're about to embark on is stories we can't tell and hopefully who's gonna show up. We'll see," John Cena said.
