John Cena to face 20-time WWE champion, believes veteran, in his final wrestling match

Former WWE Champion John Cena is slated to retire from in-ring action next year. Understandably, many wrestlers would like to face The Cenation Leader in his final match. Wrestling veteran Jonathan Coachman recently shared his opinion on who should lock horns with Cena in his last bout.

At Money in the Bank 2024 in Toronto, Canada, The Franchise Player announced his retirement tour, which will kick off in January 2025 and conclude by December.

In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet on INSIGHT, Jonathan Coachman was asked who could be the 47-year-old star's last opponent. The veteran speculated that Randy Orton could be John Cena's final opponent since the two legends were closely matched in terms of WWE World Championship reigns.

"Well, I think it’s gonna be Randy Orton. I really do. Because when you look at the fact that they’re both basically at the same number of World Championships," Coachman said.

The Coach praised The Viper's growth and maturity since they first met and expressed pride in his accomplishments.

"Randy has come from the kid I knew at 19 years old to where he is now. I’m so incredibly proud of what he’s done and the maturity that he’s had." [H/T: chrisvanvliet.com]

Top WWE star wants to face John Cena and Randy Orton upon his main roster debut

Oba Femi made a name for himself in WWE NXT when he defeated Dragon Lee in January 2024 to become the North American Champion. He set a new record by holding the championship for the longest time, surpassing Wes Lee's reign. Unfortunately, Femi's title run ended this week when he lost to Tony D'Angelo.

During a recent appearance on the Going Ringside podcast, Oba Femi mentioned he would like to compete against John Cena, Randy Orton, and a few other prominent stars once he transitioned to the main roster.

"Main roster, Randy, John Cena before he retires and leaves us alone. Gunther. Drew McIntyre," he said.

The 16-time World Champion previously revealed that he had no control over his opponents, effectively calling out the entire roster before he hung up his wrestling boots. It will be exciting to see who faces Cena in his final WWE bout.
