John Cena to lose to CM Punk because of former US Champion, believes veteran (Exclusive)
WWE Champion John Cena is set to battle it out against long-time rival CM Punk at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia later this month. The two rivals faced off against each other during the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, and a match between the two was made official.
Cena is currently in the midst of his 'farewell tour' in WWE and is facing off against his iconic rivals one by one. His first title defense came against Randy Orton at Backlash before he took out R-Truth during Saturday Night's Main Event in a non-title match.
Speaking about the Cena vs. Punk clash at Night of Champions during the latest episode of WrestleVotes Q&A on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Bill Apter claimed that R-Truth might get involved in the match between the two.
"I think it has to be R-Truth and John Cena, no matter what the storyline, no matter what the angle is. Right now, their focus is on the match with CM Punk, promoting the Saudi Arabia thing. Somehow, they've got to have some interaction with Cena and Ron Killings during the weeks leading up to that and maybe Ron Killings interferes and cause John Cena the title in Saudi Arabia," Apter said. The former United States champion recently faced off against John Cena in a non-title match at Saturday Night's Main Event. Truth would even cost Cena in his tag team match against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso at Money in the Bank.
