John Cena may take Roman Reigns' rumored place at WWE WrestleMania 41, says veteran (Exclusive)
With Roman Reigns returning to WWE, he will likely compete at WrestleMania 41. However, a veteran believes that John Cena may take Reigns' place in a highly anticipated match at the event.
When The Rock made his shocking return to pro wrestling, he was seemingly set to face Roman Reigns. However, fan outcry and other factors led to Cody Rhodes and Reigns being the marquee match at WrestleMania XL. Nevertheless, it turned out to be a very entertaining affair.
Fans are still excited to see The Tribal Chief go up against The Brahma Bull at some point, with many expecting it to happen at next year's WrestleMania.
On Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine, Bill Apter shared a different idea. Apter said John Cena might face The Rock since the former was on the verge of retiring from in-ring action.
"At that point, depending upon how hot everything is, it's gotta be The Rock against Roman Reigns. I think that's the money match (...) Actually, where I am going with this, I don't know if they wanna see Roman or Cody against The Rock. I think they might wanna see [gestures you can't see me] John Cena against The Rock because that's part of his plans for next year. It is to be high-profile at WrestleMania." [14:18 onwards]
WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long spoke about Roman Reigns' return
Following The Original Tribal Chief's WWE comeback, Cody Rhodes has found an unlikely ally in his feud against The Bloodline. However, Teddy Long thinks that the alliance will end unexpectedly.
On the same episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine, the Hall of Famer said Cody Rhodes turning on Roman Reigns would make for a great twist.
"You know what? I would reverse that. I would be giving the people what they're not expecting. I'd have Cody turn," Long said. [12:21 onwards]
As of now, it remains to be seen whether Teddy Long's WWE prediction will prove to be correct.
