John Cena provides huge clarification about his retirement; unexpected WWE role he plans
John Cena is retiring and he has opened up on his clarification about what happens next for him in WWE. The star spoke in the press conference after Money in the Bank 2024.
Cena is a true legend in the wrestling world. He will be retiring and bringing an end to his career that changed everything for WWE. He announced that WrestleMania 41 will be his last one and that he will retire at the end of 2025.
When asked about his retirement and what happens after he finally wrestles his last match, he spoke about his plans. He said that he would be wearing a suit and tie and never wearing his wrestling gear again. He also added he won't get physical again in any role and that when he retired, that would be it.
However, he said that he would be taking up an unexpected role and that would be as an advocate aka an ambassador for WWE. This means as an ambassador, like many legends holding this post, he may be representing the company in various events.
"My uniform will be retiring. You will see me in a suit and tie. I have no intention of being physical in any way... no guest refereeing, no falling through an accidental table. None of that stuff. I will be a fan and an advocate, and that's it."
With that being said, fans will have to see what John Cena does and whether he sticks to his promise of never returning to the ring once he has retired.
