John Cena's final opponent should be a member of the Bloodline, believes WWE legend
Former WWE Champion John Cena is set to hang up his wrestling boots after his Retirement Tour in 2025. Meanwhile, Hall of Famer Kurt Angle speculated that The Cenation Leader's final match should be against a Bloodline member.
At the 2024 Money in the Bank, Cena revealed that he would embark on a 12-month Farewell Tour in 2025. The 16-time World Champion has already been announced for his last-ever appearances at next year's Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber Premium Live Events.
In a recent interview with MuscleManMalcolm, Kurt Angle was asked to share his thoughts on The Franchise Player's final in-ring opponent. The Olympian suggested John Cena's final encounter inside the squared circle should be against the OG Bloodline's Roman Reigns.
"John Cena's [last match should be] probably [against] Roman Reigns. I think knowing that where Roman was when he started, and I remember a promo where John put him in his place; I think they would have a good storyline coming up if they decide to have that last match of Cena vs. Roman," Angle said. Kurt Angle thinks John Cena deserves a WWE World Title shot before retiring
The WWE Hall of Famer further revealed that John Cena's last bout should not be a non-title match. During the same interaction with MuscleManMalcolm, Kurt Angle argued that The Doctor of Thuganomics deserved a world championship shot before retiring.
According to the Olympic gold medalist, considering that Cena had won 16 world titles in the Stamford-based company, he deserved an opportunity to surpass Ric Flair's record, which The Nature Boy established across multiple promotions.
"I think for John Cena's credit, it should be for the world title. I mean, this kid has won 16 world heavyweight titles in WWE. No one's ever done that before. Ric Flair won 16, but he did it with NWA, WCW, and WWE. But John Cena has won 16 titles in the WWE; no one's ever done that. So, I think he deserves a title shot," Angle added. [From 01:14 to 01:37]
Only time will tell if The Leader of the Cenation's final opponent will be Roman Reigns or someone else from the two iterations of the Bloodline.
