John Cena's road to WrestleMania 41 predicted by WWE analyst; massive opponent at the Show of Shows
John Cena is set to embark on his retirement tour next year. A WWE analyst recently predicted the Leader of the Cenation's road to WrestleMania and who would be his opponent at the Show of Shows.
Earlier this year, the 16-time world champion announced that he would retire from in-ring competition by the end of 2025. Meanwhile, he confirmed his participation in the upcoming Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber matches. On an episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, WWE analyst Sam Roberts suggested Cena could lose the Royal Rumble match before winning the Elimination Chamber to earn himself a World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania 41.
The RAW Talk host pointed out that while Cena would seem to be heading towards winning his 17th world title, he would shockingly lose to The Ring General:
"I so badly wanna go into WrestleMania with this idea that, 'Okay, Gunther's had a long title reign. Clearly, this is where John wins the title and gets the record.' He doesn't. Gunther beats him. And it's like to me, that moment and that's why you can do it on night one because you can have a hero's thing on night two. Night one, you can have your villainous, you know, 'I can't believe it. What do you mean John Cena didn't... We were all here to celebrate John Cena.' And so, if anybody is gonna spoil it for John Cena at WrestleMania, I want it to be Gunther," he said. [20:50 - 21:23]
Sam Roberts thinks a Triple-Threat match would main event night two of WWE WrestleMania 41
While Sam Roberts suggested that John Cena and Gunther main event the first night of WrestleMania 41, he proposed that The Rock challenges Cody Rhodes on night two.
The WWE analyst claimed Roman Reigns could win the 2025 Men's Royal Rumble to insert himself into The Final Boss' match against The American Nightmare, turning it into a Triple-Threat:
"Roman Reigns then after wins the Royal Rumble and it's like, 'Oh, Roman and Gunther.' Roman goes, 'No, I'm taking the match from you.' And now instead of Cody taking The Rock's match, Roman's taking The Rock's match. And it develops into a Triple Threat," he said.
It would be interesting to see if Sam Roberts' suggestions for both WrestleMania 41 main events would come true.
