John Cena says AEW star was "one of the few supporters" of him
John Cena opened up about current AEW star and WWE legend Paul Wight while answering a question at a "92NY" event.
The Cenation Leader and Wight (fka Big Show) have feuded on various occasions in the past. The behemoth has praised Cena multiple times and has massive respect for the 16-time World Champion.
John Cena recently answered several fan questions during his appearance at 92NY. When asked about his favorite memory of working with Big Show, aka Wight, here's what he said in response:
"Just the moments that he would open up as a human being. He is a kind and gentle giant, a giving giant. He was very much responsible, he was one of the few supporters of me when no one else would bet on me. We've had great conversations over the years, and those are some of my favorite moments — when you get to talk to Paul." [H/T WrestlingInc]
John Cena's first WrestleMania match was against Paul Wight
John Cena had become one of the hottest acts on WWE SmackDown by the time 2004 came around. As WrestleMania XX was inching closer, Cena kicked off a feud with Big Show on the blue brand.
The opening match of WrestleMania XX saw Big Show defending his WWE United States title against Cena in the latter's first-ever outing at The Show of Shows.
Cena managed to pick up a huge win over the giant with the help of his brass knuckles, thus winning the United States title on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
The 16-time World Champion went on to headline several WrestleMania events. He met Big Show once again at 'Mania five years later. This time around, Cena defeated Big Show and Edge in a World Heavyweight Championship Triple Threat match.
