WWE News: John Cena set to host NBC's SNL

John Cena’s career outside the WWE continues to flourish.

John Cena’s current hiatus from the WWE keeps turning more eventful, as he is all set to join the likes of Hulk Hogan and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in becoming the third ever pro wrestler to host Saturday Night Live.

Cena acknowledged the news through Twitter, here is his tweet:

This will not be Cena’s first ever appearance at the show, however, since he was a part of an opening sketch in 2009. He played the role of a security guard who tried to block the host Tracy Morgan from entering, only to get knocked out.

Cena also hosted the ESPY awards earlier this year.

During Cena’s current hiatus from the WWE, he has landed himself several movie roles and as reported, he might be on the road to take yet another hiatus from the company to fulfil his non-wrestling commitments.

The SNL also confirmed John Cena’s appearance in a tweet of their own:

There also seems to be some tension brewing between Cena and McMahon as Cena is not happy with how he’s treated and believes that his dedication is taken for granted. This has forced McMahon and the creative team to brainstorm ideas for the Undertaker which do not involve Cena for Wrestlemania 33.

Cena's return is scheduled to take place at Madison Square Garden on December 25 for a house show where he will take on Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles in a triple threat match. However, his return back to live TV  is unknown as of yet, Several rumours indicate a return at Royal Rumble for Cena.

With the relations between Cena and McMahon bitter right now, we can expect Cena to take up more commitments outside the WWE as time goes on.
