John Cena won't win another WWE Championship, says wrestling veteran, but he can break major record in 2025
WWE RAW is heading to Netflix in 2025. Meanwhile, John Cena will kick off his retirement tour at the beginning of next year. Dutch Mantell believes The Cenation Leader won't win another world championship but will surpass Ric Flair.
Earlier this month, John Cena announced his plans for 2025 and revealed that he will hang up his wrestling boots next year. The retirement tour will feature multiple dates, including WrestleMania 41. Many fans want to see him win his 17th world title in his final run as an in-ring performer.
On Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the former WWE manager said the company might not put another world championship on the Hollywood star before he retires from in-ring competition in 2025.
"Well, I'm kind of torn on this one. Will he break it? There's a possibility that he might break it. I don't think they'll [WWE] let him break it. I really don't," Mantell said. (From 38:00 to 38:25)
Mantell added that the company might readjust Ric Flair's record for most world title wins by introducing new criteria, allowing John Cena to surpass The Nature Boy without winning another championship.
"I don't think he'll [John Cena] break [Ric] Flair's record. But, I think they'll readjust the qualifications to be called a world champion. Therefore, knocking Flair off down, the level he needs to be, and for John Cena to rightfully reclaim his seat on the WWE throne." (From 39:14 to 39:43)

John Cena has multiple WWE Premium Live Events in mind for 2025
John Cena has been an integral part of WWE for over two decades following his main roster debut in 2002. He was the face of the company for a really long time before transitioning to Hollywood.
In recent years, the 16-time World Champion has made sporadic appearances on the company's programming. The 47-year-old star's retirement tour will likely be a major part of RAW's early days on Netflix.
At the Money in the Bank post-show, Cena said he will compete at Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 41 as part of his final run with the Stamford-based promotion. It'll be interesting to see whether he captures a title or two along the way.
