John Cena "would admit" he's not the best wrestler, says 46-year-old star

A former WWE star has reacted to the heat that he received after making a comment about John Cena's wrestling skills.

Maven is quite possibly the most popular pro wrestling YouTuber today. His channel has seen massive growth in a short span of time. He recently made a comment stating that John Cena wasn't the best wrestler and received heat from many fans.

In his latest live session on his YouTube channel, the 46-year-old opened up about receiving backlash for his comment about The Cenation Leader. He then made it clear that he stands by his original comment and also heaped massive praise on Cena.

"Somebody asked me what my thoughts were on Cena. And I said... and I stand behind it, Cena was not the best wrestler. I think Cena would admit that. But Cena was amazing at marketing himself and Cena is a star. In 10 lifetimes I couldn't become the star that Cena became. And my thoughts on Cena are: I'm happy for him, I love what he has done with the Make-A-Wish. He's an even bigger star in Hollywood. I wish nothing but the best for Cena." [2:44-3:15]

John Cena's career is nearing its end

Cena is currently making regular appearances on WWE TV. The in-ring legend knows, though, that his career is coming to an end in the near future.

In a recent backstage interview with WWE, Cena candidly spoke about his future in pro wrestling:

“Every single chance I get to go out there becomes more and more special. There is no denying the fact that I’m 46 and staring down 47. I’ve been here for over two decades. As I said out there in the ring, the last one is not tonight, but I know it’s soon. To speak candidly, when you’re involved in this every day in a full-time capacity, you just think about what’s next.” [H/T Fightful]

Maven was a WWE mainstay back when Cena was quickly making a name for himself in the company. He was released by the company shortly after Cena became the WWE Champion for the first time in his career. The duo never got to have a singles match against each other.
