WWE News: Johnny Mundo confirms that JBL asked him to steal Justin Roberts' passport
What’s the story?
Former WWE Superstar John Morrison (now known as Johnny Mundo in Lucha Underground) has stated, as per a report by Deadspin, that there was a time that John Bradshaw Layfield (JBL) told him to steal former WWE ring announcer Justin Roberts’ passport.
In case you didn’t know...
The stories of JBL’s bullying have come to light ever since Roberts’ book, “Best Seat in the House: Your Backstage Pass through My WWE Journey” hit the stores a couple of months ago.
JBL accelerated matters when he responded to Roberts’ bullying accusations via Twitter by calling him an idiot.
The heart of the matter
In the interview, Mundo would explain what JBL wanted him to do:
"JBL asked me and my partner to steal [Justin's] passport, and we didn't.
JBL was one of the main event guys at the time, and I don't remember exactly what Justin Roberts did to become the target for the hazing of this specific oversea trip, but JBL asked me and Joey to snag Justin's passport."
He feared that by declining to take the passport, he and his former tag partner Joey Mercury would be next on JBL’s radar. Mundo would further explain:
"Ultimately, we considered the options, and wound up deciding to not do it. This is a weird thing for a wrestler to say, especially in that era, but I usually went by the golden rule.
I wouldn't have appreciated someone doing that to me, especially someone I considered a peer."
What’s next?
One has to wonder if it is a matter of time before JBL is let go. WWE is a major partner in the anti-bullying program “Be A Star” and has let employees go for similar situations before.

Bill DeMott was let go from the WWE in March 2015 for similar behaviour as well.
Author’s take
If this information is true (and there is a lot of evidence starting to collect), then JBL is certainly despicable and the WWE should be looking into suspending him at the earliest.
In JBL’s wrestling days, it seemed that he was an untouchable commodity, but these are different times. It’s very interesting to note that this story is not dying and is only gaining more steam as time goes on.
