Judgment Day member pitches major WWE star to join the group; potential replacement teased
The Judgment Day has added to its ranks just a few times since being founded by Edge almost 950 days ago. Despite recent losses and additions, the heel faction still needs one more superstar for a certain massive WWE PLE main event coming up. A fan-favorite breakout star was just pitched for the blockbuster role.
The Judgment Day is now dealing with internal tension after a shake-up ejected Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley earlier in the summer. Carlito's future is uncertain, but Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, Dominik Mysterio, Liv Morgan, and Raquel Rodriguez are seemingly locked in. Momentum was strong one year ago on the Road to Survivor Series, which saw Drew McIntyre team with Judgment Day representatives Priest, Balor, Mysterio, and McDonagh for a big WarGames loss to Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins, and Sami Zayn.
WarGames matches are set for the 38th annual Survivor Series PLE on Saturday, November 30, which was confirmed in recent WarGames creative changes. Regarding WWE Deutschland's The Week #155, McDonagh named NXT's Oba Femi when asked who he'd pick to join The Judgment Day as their fifth man in WarGames. JD made the case for the 2023 NXT Men's Breakout Tournament winner and jokingly wondered if Femi would look good in J-Day purple.
"We need a bada*s [for an additional Judgment Day member in WarGames]. Maybe Oba Femi from NXT? Someone out of left field. Yeah, somebody big... a big enforcer. I’d take him [Femi], he’s got swag, he’s got confidence, he can throw people around. I think he’d fit in. I’d take him... I wonder, would he look good in purple?" JD McDonagh said. Tony D'Angelo dethroned Femi three weeks ago, ending his NXT North American Championship reign at a record 273 days. Despite joining WWE in November 2022 with no wrestling experience, Femi is rumored for a main roster call-up after his rematch loss to Tony D at Halloween Havoc on Sunday, but nothing is official. However, word from Orlando is that there's talk of the 26-year-old capturing the NXT Championship from Trick Williams, perhaps during WrestleMania 41 Weekend.
The Judgment Day's next challengers revealed
The Judgment Day recently passed the four-month mark in their reign as WWE World Tag Team Champions. Finn Balor and JD McDonagh began their first reign together on June 24 by dethroning Awesome Truth in the RAW main event.
Tonight's live RAW episode saw Erik and Ivar of The War Raiders become the new #1 contenders to Balor and McDonagh. They won a Triple Threat over The New Day's Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, plus Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee of The LWO.
As of this writing, WWE has not announced when Erik and Ivar vs. Finn and JD will take place. Balor and McDonagh made their only televised title defense on September 16, defeating The New Day on RAW almost three months after the initial championship victory.
