Kairi Sane shows off surprising new look ahead of WWE SmackDown

WWE star Kairi Sane showed off a surprising new look ahead of tonight's edition of SmackDown. The veteran was in action on this past Monday's edition of WWE RAW.

Damage CTRL's Kairi Sane and IYO SKY challenged Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill for the Women's Tag Team Championships this past Monday night on the red brand. Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend got involved in the match and cost Damage CTRL their chance at capturing the titles.

Ahead of tonight's episode of SmackDown, Sane took to social media to show off her new hairstyle. You can check out Sane's post on the Instagram story by clicking here.

Bayley used to be the leader of Damage CTRL, but the faction betrayed her ahead of WrestleMania XL. The Role Model got the ultimate revenge by winning the Women's Royal Rumble match and going on to defeat IYO SKY at The Show of Shows to capture the WWE Women's Championship. However, the veteran has since dropped the title to Nia Jax and lost her rematch against The Irresistible Force at Bad Blood earlier this month as well.

Kairi Sane's WWE tag team partner is currently out with injury

Kairi Sane and Asuka are a popular tag team known as The Kabuki Warriors, but The Empress of Tomorrow has been out with an injury for months.

Asuka has not competed in a match since Backlash in May, where The Kabuki Warriors lost the Women's Tag Team Championships to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair. The veteran was supposed to compete in the Queen of the Ring tournament earlier this year but was pulled due to her knee injury.

Nia Jax went on to win the tournament to earn a WWE Women's Championship match against Bayley at SummerSlam.

During her hiatus, Asuka reportedly signed a new contract with the promotion. She has been sharing cryptic messages as of late, potentially hinting at her return to action soon.

Kairi Sane is a former NXT Women's Champion and has won the Women's Tag Team Championships twice with Asuka. The 36-year-old has not captured a singles title on the main roster yet.
