Karrion Kross teases alliance with WWE SmackDown star

WWE Superstar Karrion Kross began his cult, The Final Testament, on the New Year's Revolution edition episode of SmackDown in January. In April, as part of the 2024 WWE Draft, all five members of the faction were picked by RAW.

Tension began brewing between Kross and The New Day on RAW, with the former NXT Champion consistently making attempts to persuade Xavier Woods to leave his iconic group. On account of recent real-life turn of events, WWE appears to have scrapped the angle. At least, for now. Could The Herald of Doomsday move on and join forces with SmackDown's Austin Theory?

As wild as that sounds, Karrion Kross teased it on Instagram. He shared a throwback post with the former United States Champion during their time in NXT, adding a most recent image of the two posing together. Kross also gave a name for their potential team, "Doom Theory":

"Doom Theory. A Multiverse Saga," Karrion Kross wrote.

As for Theory, WWE Creative has taken a slow-burn approach to his impending breakup with tag team partner Grayson Waller. The duo, known as A-Town Down Under, has shown signs of conflict, but the former always seems to give The Aussie Icon the benefit of doubt. Perhaps it is only a matter of time.

Austin Theory is a future WWE world champion, says Randy Orton

Randy Orton praised Austin Theory when discussing the young stalwarts of the Stamford-based promotion.

Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling's Senior Editor Bill Apter during Bob Orton, Jr.'s St. Louis Wrestling Hall of Fame induction not long ago, Austin Theory's name popped into Randy Orton's mind when asked to name a future world champion:

"It's hard, I don't have a crystal ball or anything, but Austin Theory is young and he's got a great look. I know where his head's at. I've had plenty of talks with him, and a lot of the things that I did as a kid that I maybe shouldn't have, the distractions that I was confronted with, he doesn't have those. I think he's just a little more gung-ho, motivated. He sees the goal, he sees the prize, he knows what he wants. I think he'll definitely be a world champion one day," Orton said.

A-Town Down Under, meanwhile, has been feuding with Kevin Owens on the blue brand. The two were defeated by the former Universal Champion in a Triple Threat bout last Friday but managed to recover and beat up the latter post-match.

Later on the show, Waller proposed an idea to SmackDown GM Nick Aldis: to book them in a tag team match against The Prizefighter next week, with a partner of Owens' choosing.
