Kevin Owen's won't betray Cody Rhodes; another major WWE Superstar will, says veteran
Many WWE fans expect Kevin Owens to betray Cody Rhodes in the upcoming weeks. However, a wrestling veteran has claimed that it would not happen. Instead, he predicted another top superstar would turn on The American Nightmare.
The superstar in question is Randy Orton. Last Friday on SmackDown, The Viper expressed his concern about Rhodes teaming with Roman Reigns against The Bloodline at Bad Blood. Meanwhile, he played the role of the peacemaker between The American Nightmare and Owens, who continued to tease turning on the Undisputed WWE Champion.
On his The Experience podcast, wrestling veteran Jim Cornette predicted that instead of KO, The Apex Predator would betray Cody. He claimed the company was leading fans to believe that The Prizefighter would turn on The American Nightmare, so they would be surprised when The Viper does.
"I don't think he [Owens] will [turn on Rhodes]. I think that way, when Orton does, they have lulled us into a false sense of security. I could be wrong, but I never have been," he said. [3:23-3:35]
Former WWE star thinks both Kevin Owens and Randy Orton will turn on Cody Rhodes
On the REBOOKED podcast, former WWE Superstar Matthew Rehwoldt (FKA Aiden English) discussed the future of Cody Rhodes' friendship with Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. He predicted that it would eventually "explode."
The current TNA color commentator predicted that the three superstars would clash in a Triple Threat Match, possibly at Royal Rumble:
"Eventually, I don't know if it's he faces each of them individually again, like he already did it with Kevin. I mean, I feel like a match with Randy is on the horizon. But I think, I don't know if it's the Rumble or something like that. I think this friendship explodes in the next few months, and we get a three-way somewhere," he said.
Former WWE host Matt Camp recently suggested Kevin Owens could interfere in Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns' match against The Bloodline at Bad Blood. It will be interesting to see if that happens.
