Kevin Owens would love to have a WrestleMania match with former WWE Universal Champion
WWE Superstar Kevin Owens will be in action at Saturday Night's Main Event against Cody Rhodes. In the lead-up to NBC's special show, The Prizefighter expressed a desire to face a former rival with whom he's never had a WrestleMania match.
At SNME, KO will lock horns with Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. This will be the second time the two men will collide in a World Title match this year. It was The American Nightmare who emerged victorious over Owens at Bash in Berlin on August 31. In a recent interview with Mail Sport, Kevin Owens disclosed his long-held ambition to clash with the former Universal Champion Finn Balor at WrestleMania.
The 40-year-old star emphasized the deep bond the duo had formed while coming through the developmental brand together, and that he considers The Prince one of his best friends and a brother.
"I have always said I would love to have a WrestleMania match with Finn Balor because we got very close very quickly when we got to WWE at the same time. He has been one of my best friends and really like a brother to me. That's something I would like to share with him," he said. [H/T - Daily Mail]
Balor and KO engaged in a fierce rivalry in 2015, battling multiple times for the NXT Championship. Their matches were known for their intensity and showcased a compelling contrast in styles. However, the duo has never wrestled at The Showcase of the Immortals before.
Kevin Owens also wants to face a WWE legend in a singles match
The Prizefighter and Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio have shared the ring several times. But Kevin Owens and The Master of the 619 never collided in a singles match.
During the same interaction on the Mail Sport, the former WWE Univeral Champion stated he wants to wrestle Rey Mysterio one-on-one since they've never had a singles match together.
"I have less and less answers for those questions because I have already accomplished a lot and done a lot of things I didn’t think I would get to do. I have still never had a singles match with Rey Mysterio," Kevin Owens said.
It will be exciting to see whether the Canadian star can dethrone Cody Rhodes and claim the Undisputed WWE Championship at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14.
