Kevin Owens makes shocking revelations that he was never supposed to be on RAW or SmackDown; opens up on working with Stone Cold
Kevin Owens has revealed that he was never supposed to be on the main roster when he signed with WWE. He has also opened up about working with Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Owens is one of the biggest stars in WWE at the moment. He's heading into Saturday Night's Main Event to battle for the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes. Should he win, he'll finally be world champion again.
Speaking to Collider, Kevin Owens said he has lived up to his dreams within the company. He had signed with WWE, thinking he would never be able to make it past NXT, as he was told that he would not be on RAW or SmackDown and would stay in developmental.
However, as is known, the star broke out and had one of the most memorable matches with John Cena on RAW. Owens went on to wrestle in WrestleMania, even main eventing at one point. He's won several titles and has even been able to share the ring with his favorite star, Stone Cold Steve Austin. The star added that he had been able to take care of his family in a way he never expected.
“When I first signed with WWE, I was basically told I’d probably stay in NXT and never really see the light of day on Raw or SmackDown,” Owens said. “And then, about eight, nine months later, I was on Raw with John Cena. From that point on, I’ve had WrestleManias, I’ve had titles, and I’ve been in the ring with my favorite wrestler of all time, Steve Austin. I’ve been able to take care of my family in a way I never fathomed,” Owens said. [H/T Collider]
Kevin Owens has a chance to win a massive title against Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night's Main Event
Not only does Kevin Owens have the chance to make history by winning a WWE title by defeating Cody Rhodes this weekend, but he can also finally put a rivalry to rest.
While the two stars have battled in the past, things changed for Owens after Rhodes teamed with Roman Reigns. Since then, he has been on a rampage, attacking and taking out Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton on multiple occasions.
Should he defeat Rhodes to win the title, that would be the exclamation point to this feud.
