Kevin Owens must face 7-time champion before potential WWE exit, feels veteran

Kevin Owens made headlines when he attacked Cody Rhodes in the parking lot at WWE Bad Blood 2024. The former Universal Champion's attack was leaked online by fans, which Triple H later acknowledged and stated that it would be dealt with internally. While speaking on a recent episode of his Jim Cornette's Drive-Thru podcast, wrestling veteran Jim Cornette addressed the attack and stated that Kevin Owens might be nearing his WWE exit once his contract expires.

The 63-year-old veteran also added that the company knew about it and wanted to put Rhodes over KO with this storyline. Moreover, Jim discussed the idea of a potential Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn match in the future. He stated that a match between both men would be a treat to watch before the former Universal Champion parted ways with the Stamford-based company.

"Oh yeah, you know, he's got to give him a kiss on the way out because, you know, they'll want to do it when they're in an old folks' home somewhere. They'll want to have a match out in the backyard just to entertain themselves," Jim Cornette said. [6:47 - 7:02]

WWE Superstar Sami Zayn tried to discuss Kevin Owens' attack with Cody Rhodes

While both Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes have not said much about their parking lot brawl at Bad Blood 2024 till now, Sami Zayn, who is a seven-time WWE champion, tried to discuss it with The American Nightmare. Both men came face-to-face on this week's episode of RAW when Zayn stated that he would win the World Heavyweight Championship, eventually leading to a match between them at Crown Jewel 2024.

While things did not go that way, Sami also asked if Rhodes wanted to talk about his parking lot brawl with KO when the latter denied it and hinted that he would address it on SmackDown.

With the blue brand's episode just a few hours away, it would be intriguing to see how this story unfolds in a new direction.
