Kofi Kingston hints at Big E's WWE return amid The New Day's ongoing troubles
WWE Superstar Kofi Kingston recently talked about Big E's possible return to television amid The New Day's ongoing troubles. Kingston and Xavier Woods haven't been on the same page in recent months.
Big E last competed inside the squared circle on the March 11, 2022, episode of SmackDown, when he teamed up with Kofi Kingston to face Sheamus and Ridge Holland. Unfortunately, during the bout, the 38-year-old star suffered a neck injury, which sidelined him from in-ring competition.
Amid his absence from WWE television, tensions are building between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. The stars haven't been on the same page for quite some time and even had a little on-screen altercation on last week's RAW. However, The New Day's 10th anniversary is coming up, and many people believe Big E might return to make things hunky dory between his teammates once again.
During a recent interview with The New York Post, Kofi Kingston dropped a major hint at Big E's WWE return to celebrate The New Day's anniversary in a special episode of RAW. He said they could not have their stable's celebration without the 38-year-old as it would not feel right.
The former WWE Champion also mentioned that he hoped Big E's schedule was clear for RAW's special episode, as the celebration would feel incomplete without him.
"I don’t think that we can have a New Day celebration without Big E there. It wouldn’t feel right. It wouldn’t taste right, you know? So I’m hoping he’s available. But like I said, man, he’s busy doing a lot of things out there. I don’t know what his schedule is gonna look like, but hopefully, he will be there. It would feel incomplete if he was not involved in The New Day 10-year anniversary in some way," he said. [H/T New York Post]
Xavier Woods revealed details of The New Day's 10th-anniversary celebration on WWE RAW's special episode
During a recent interview with TV Insider, Xavier Woods revealed that The New Day filmed a lot of stuff together at WWE's HQ and promised a "huge party" on RAW.
"We did film a bunch of stuff going through our historical things the past 10 years. It’s going to be a party. It’s going to be a huge party on RAW because that’s what we have done at WWE. Lots of people have forgotten wrestling is supposed to be fun. That’s why we came into the picture to remind everyone. Yes, you can be so angry or sad and feel these emotions from the show. At the same time, don’t forget the most important one: You’re supposed to be having fun. That’s what the celebration will be. It’s going to be a good time and a reminder that wrestling is supposed to be fun," Xavier Woods said.
It will be interesting to see if Big E will return to the Stamford-based promotion for RAW's special episode.
