Kofi Kingston recalls The New Day's three significant achievements ahead of WWE RAW celebration
Former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston reflected on his run with The New Day ahead of their ten-year anniversary on tonight's WWE RAW. Kingston pointed out how rare it is for a group to remain as a unit for this long.
While discussing The New Day's longevity with the New York Post, Kofi Kingston noted that three significant moments proved their value to WWE in the past decade. These were the selling of Booty-O's cereal, hosting WrestleMania 33, and confronting Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson at one point. Kingston added that the trio takes great pride in all of it:
"So yeah, man, we take a lot of pride, and especially with the fact that we brought so much of the industry, we’ve been able to do so many incredible things, hosting WrestleMania, going toe to toe with The Rock on the mic, bringing actual cereal (Booty-Os) to WWE — the first food product in over a decade. There’s just so many different things that we’ve been able to accomplish that we take a lot of pride in. Ten years is a really, really long time, and you don’t even quite realize it until you sit down and you’re like, ‘Oh my God, 10 years. Wow.'"
Unfortunately for Kingston, stablemate Xavier Woods has been at odds with him lately. However, Woods opened up about a potential split recently, claiming that he is just having mature conversations with a brother.
The New Day celebrates 10-year anniversary on WWE RAW; will Big E return with good or bad news?
Tonight's episode of WWE RAW is scheduled to emanate from the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Washington. There are reports that Big E will be part of the show, but no word on whether the former WWE Champion is cleared for an in-ring return. Big E was last seen wrestling in March 2022 when a freak accident forced him to step away from the ring.
Big E shared a self-written article about how The New Day may have saved not only his career but also his life. E is not advertised for the upcoming episode but it does not make sense to have a New Day celebration without all of its original members being present.
Be that as it may, it is not out of the realm of possibility that Big E announces his retirement from in-ring competition, as he has hinted at it since his freak accident.
