Kofi Kingston spotted with former WWE champion who he couldn't save because of Xavier Woods
Kofi Kingston is constantly torn between following his heart and following the lead of his teammate Xavier Woods. The New Day has recently lost the trust of several of its allies because of Woods’ selfish behavior and his preventing Kingston from saving them from ambushes. Recently, however, the former WWE Champion was spotted with one wrestler he had failed to save: R-Truth.
The former World Tag Team Champion had aided The New Day in their match against Authors of Pain as The Final Testament stood at ringside. Truth had attacked The Miz, which caused a distraction and allowed Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods to win the match. The former Awesome Truth member even celebrated their victory.
Truth was still enjoying himself in the ring when Woods and Kingston walked out, and he was then surrounded by Karrion Kross’ crew, who attacked him. While the Ghanaian-born wrestler wanted to save Truth, Woods didn’t let Kingston go. Fortunately, Truth was saved by The Wyatt Sicks instead.
Several weeks following the incident, Kofi Kingston has now shared an image with the former World Tag Team champ as they shared a flight ahead of RAW.
“Look who I ran into on the flight! How fortuitous! That’s what’s up! #Throwback @RonKillings,” he wrote.
Kofi Kingston argues with Xavier Woods following massive allegation
Xavier Woods has been trying to do things his way for several weeks. Calling himself the ‘QB’ of the team, Woods has been asking Kingston to leave all the decision-making to him. But, since everything has been going south ever since the 11-time WWE Tag Team Champion has held the reins, Kofi doesn’t seem to be on the same page as him anymore.
Woods even accused his teammate of “dropping the ball” in the finals of the number one contender's tournament. This resulted in Kingston firing back, saying it was actually Woods who cost them the match, and everything was available on video footage.
Following this backstage argument, The New Day lost another match when Woods tried to switch things up and tagged himself in. This happened right when Kofi Kingston was about to land the Trouble in Paradise for the finish. However, the small window of distraction was used by The War Raiders to secure another win.
The duo was later seen arguing in the background when Karrion Kross spoke with Adam Pearce after RAW ended. It will be interesting to see if these tensions finally result in the splitting of The New Day
