Konnan criticizes WWE for its booking of two popular SmackDown stars
WCW legend Konnan is unhappy with WWE's booking of LA Knight and Karrion Kross.
Konnan has always had a tumultuous relationship with WWE since his brief stint with them in the early 1990s. Everything seems to be cool between the two sides ever since Triple H became the head of creative. The WCW legend recently inducted Rey Mysterio into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Despite his history with the company, Konnan remains critical of how they book certain wrestlers such as LA Knight and Karrion Kross. On a recent episode of his K100 podcast, the 59-year-old legend relayed his confusion on why WWE won't push Knight and use Kross the right way.
"I don’t know why you'd have a guy, when it's so hard to get people over, is over, and you haven't even pushed him," Konnan said about Knight. "There's so many great things you can do to make money with him. Why you wouldn't take advantage of him and try to take his knees out? And I could see him as Universal Champion, and if they gave him a proper push like we've seen them do when they want to, why not World Champ?"
As for Karrion Kross, Konnan had nothing but praise for the former NXT Champion:
"You know the type of employees you have, and he is not the type that has heat. He's a model employee, he's the type of guy you want. He has ideas, he's not just waiting around for you to give him ideas. He stays in shape, he's sharp on his promos and his character." (h/t EWrestlingNews)
Current WWE storylines for LA Knight and Karrion Kross
Both LA Knight and Karrion Kross are not part of any current title-related storylines. Knight, who has been gaining more steam every week, just attacked Rick Boogs after losing their tag team match against the Street Profits last week on SmackDown.
Meanwhile, Kross has set his sights on AJ Styles, sending a message to The Phenomenal One last week. With Styles set to face Seth Rollins at Night of Champions for the World Heavyweight Championship, a Kross-Styles feud for the title isn't far-fetched.
With Money in the Bank right around the corner, both Knight and Kross would benefit from holding the briefcase. There have also been reports of Knight being one of the favorites to win it.
