Kurt Angle never needed to ask permission, says WWE veteran, for the Ankle Lock

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has spent decades in the industry as a professional wrestler with numerous accolades across different promotions. Meanwhile, Ken Shamrock addressed whether Angle ever needed to ask permission to use one of his signature moves.

The World's Most Dangerous Man spent years with WWE and made a name for himself as a professional wrestler before transitioning into UFC. A while before he left the company, Kurt Angle made his debut and eventually began using the Ankle Lock as his finishing move.

In an interview on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, the interviewer asked Ken Shamrock if there was any animosity over the move or if the WWE Hall of Famer asked his permission. Regardless of what people said about Kurt Angle using the move, the veteran stated Angle never needed to ask permission to add it to his arsenal.

"No, and he didn't need to. I remember when it first started happening, people were like, you stole your ankle lock. And I was like, huh? That doesn't even equate in my brain, What are you talking about? Well, he's using the ankle lock. And I was like, I learned that from somebody. And then, of course, with what you said, Well, yeah, but you know he's using it in pro wrestling. And I remember thinking to myself, yeah, but I'm not there. If he would have done it while I was there, then there would be a problem, like, Hey, bro, that's my finishing hold. You can't do that," Shamrock said. [H/T - CVV]
