LA Knight fires shots at major WWE champion ahead of SmackDown
WWE Superstar LA Knight recently fired shots at a champion ahead of the latter's return to SmackDown. The name in question is United States Champion Logan Paul.
The Megastar has been trying to set up a championship match against The Maverick for several weeks. Last week on the blue brand's show, Knight left SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis' office with a contract in his hand. He then signed the paperwork inside the squared circle, challenging Logan Paul for a title match at SummerSlam.
The WWE United States Champion is scheduled to make his return to SmackDown later tonight and respond to the challenge placed in front of him. Ahead of the show, Knight took to X (fka Twitter) to send a direct message to Logan Paul as he shared a picture of himself signing the contract from last week:
"Just needs your dumb little chicken scratch and I can finally save the #USTitle from you @LoganPaul," he wrote.

Former WWE host believes LA Knight will dethrone Logan Paul
LA Knight has been feuding with Logan Paul for several weeks despite the latter's limited appearances on WWE television. He even pinned the champion in the Money in the Bank Qualifying Triple Threat match on the June 28 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, which also featured Santos Escobar. With Knight signing the contract last week, he is highly likely to compete for the title at SummerSlam.
On his The Wrestling Matt Show podcast, former host of The Bump Matt Camp claimed Knight could end Paul's title reign at the premium live event scheduled for August 3. He also claimed the former Million Dollar Champion would have the crowd by his side despite the YouTube sensation competing in his home state:
"Logan Paul and LA Knight could be very fun as a build. And LA Knight getting that elusive singles championship, and I don't count the Million Dollar Title; getting that elusive championship would get a big pop at Cleveland. And Logan [Paul], no one is gonna cheer him even though he's from there anyway," he said. [48:10 - 48:30]

Logan Paul has held the title for over 250 days since he defeated Rey Mysterio at Crown Jewel last year. However, he has defended his title only twice. It will be interesting to see if the champion accepts LA Knight's challenge for a title match at The Biggest Party of The Summer.
