LA Knight was involved in a backstage confrontation with Carmelo Hayes on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown. It took place after The Megastar was defeated by The Bloodline member, Tama Tonga.
The former NXT Champion also competed on the show, as he collided with Randy Orton in the main event in the quarterfinals of the 2024 King of the Ring tournament. Before both stars had their match, Carmelo Hayes confronted LA Knight backstage while he was being interviewed ahead of his match. LA Knight exited the 2024 King of the Ring tournament following his loss to Tama Tonga. Carmelo Hayes confronted him backstage for failing to "get the job done." Things turned physical as Knight shoved Melo, but veteran referee Charles Robinson was there to stop things from escalating.
The Megastar wished Carmelo Hayes good luck in his match against Randy Orton, but the latter also lost the bout. Melo was defeated via pinfall after being on the receiving end of an RKO out of nowhere.
