LA Knight questions if WWE champion will show up for SmackDown

LA Knight has questioned if a major WWE star will be showing up for work tonight on SmackDown. Tonight's show is the first edition of SmackDown following Clash at the Castle and will air live from the Allstate Arena in Chicago.

The SmackDown star is currently involved in a rivalry with United States Champion Logan Paul. He recently flew to Logan Paul's house in Puerto Rico and enjoyed some time in his pool before The Maverick kicked him out.

Ahead of tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown, Knight took to social media to send a message to the United States Champion. The veteran wondered if Paul would be showing up for work tonight, as seen in his post below.

"Let’s see if @LoganPaul shows up to work tonight…#SmackDown," he wrote.

Logan Paul battled Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at King and Queen of the Ring last month but was not in action at Clash at the Castle. The YouTube star is rumored to be facing LA Knight at a major upcoming event.

Former WWE writer believes LA Knight's rivalry with Bray Wyatt was a bad idea

Wrestling veteran Jon Rineman recently discussed Bray Wyatt's feud with LA Knight and claimed it was a mistake because it didn't help The Megastar's character.

Speaking with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Kevin Kellam in an exclusive interview, Rineman wondered if LA Knight was the right opponent for The Eater of Worlds. Bray Wyatt tragically passed away last year, and his last televised match was his victory over Knight in a Pitch Black match at WWE Royal Rumble 2023.

"LA Knight, I don't know that he was the right opponent. It was a great program, but what was the result of it? He just continued to be awesome. There was no character change, he didn't get darker, he didn't get scarier, or whatever. Yeah, we'll see what happens. But there are times where, I'll be honest with you, where it feels like Tony Cliffton. Oh god, this is just Bob Zmuda trying to be handy. But then again, this could also be an amazing way to honor someone. This is a big group of people, they were all very close and came up together in NXT. This could be a very fun way to have it go. We all learned with Veer [Mahaan] when you keep teasing someone and don't pay it off." (18:09-19:04)

LA Knight has never captured a title on WWE's main roster despite his popularity. It will be interesting to see if he can capture the United States Championship from Logan Paul in the months ahead.
