LA Knight's first challenger for the United States Championship officially announced on WWE SmackDown
On the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, a #1 contender's match was held to determine LA Knight's first challenger for the United States Championship. The match involved Santos Escobar and Andrade.
During the bout, El Idolo nailed the Legado Del Fantasma leader with a splash at ringside. Apollo Crews and Baron Corbin came out and had a brawl with Angel and Berto. Andrade hit an enzuigiri on the apron, but Santos planted him with a backbreaker. The duo fought on the top turnbuckle and Andrade hit a Sunset Flip Powerbomb, which got a two-count.
Andrade hit Santos Escobar with a jumping forearm and tried to hit a running attack in the corner, but the latter escaped. The former US Champion nailed Escobar with a moonsault at ringside. He followed it up with a diving crossbody and the Three Amigos for another two-count.
Santos spiked Andrade with a Poisonrana off the top for a nearfall. He nailed the latter with a superkick, but Andrade countered with a dropkick. El Idolo performed a moonsault but only got a two-count. Elektra Lopez provided a distraction, and Carmelo Hayes moved Santos Escobar out of the way when Andrade was about to hit a running attack in the corner.
Santos pinned Andrade with a roll-up and got the three count. He will face LA Knight for the US Title. Before the match started, Escobar had a confrontation with The Megastar, so it'll be interesting to see whether he'll defeat LA Knight in his first title defense.
